KOSDAQ Also Turns Slightly Weaker
The domestic stock market turned slightly weaker due to foreign investor selling.
As of 1:12 p.m. on September 15, the KOSPI index was trading at 6,657.94, down 26.43 points (0.4%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 6,659.25, a decline of 25.12 points (0.38%) compared to the previous trading day, remained slightly firm until noon, but then shifted to a downward trend and now stands slightly weaker.
Foreign investors and institutions recorded net sales of 1.1063 trillion won and 417.8 billion won, respectively, while individual investors made net purchases worth 382.6 billion won.
By sector, most categories declined except for medical precision instruments (up 2.89%), chemicals (up 0.59%), pharmaceuticals (up 0.44%), electrical and electronics (up 0.11%), and textiles and apparel (up 0.04%). Transport equipment and parts fell 2.92%, insurance dropped 2.74%, transportation and storage decreased 2.23%, and retail declined 2.06%.

HD Hyundai fell 7.7%, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering dropped 7.5%, Hanwha Aerospace declined 6.7%, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries lost 5.9%, Samsung Heavy Industries was down 5.6%, HD Hyundai Electric dropped 4.4%, and Meritz Financial Group fell 3.7%.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was recording 819.6, up 13.11 points (1.63%) compared to the previous trading day. The index started at 806.79, down 0.3 points (0.04%) from the previous session, rose in early trading and then turned slightly weaker. Foreign investors and institutions made net purchases of 7.6 billion won and 108.2 billion won, respectively, while individuals made net sales of 119.6 billion won.

Market capitalization leaders on the KOSDAQ also showed a mixed trend. Wooree Technology fell 5.2%, Jusung Engineering dropped 5.1%, ABL Bio declined 3.8%, and Voronoi was down 2.6%. Meanwhile, Wonik Holdings surged 15.3%, SPG rose 13.4%, Olix jumped 8.9%, PSK Holdings climbed 8.5%, and EO Technics increased 5.9%.
