The Korea Professional Golfers’ Association (KPGA) Tour Golfzon Open is set to begin.
The tournament will take place on September 17 at Golfzon County Sunsan (par 71) in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province. Now in its fifth year, the event features a total prize fund of KRW 1 billion, with the winner receiving KRW 200 million. A total of 132 players will compete. The tournament will feature star KPGA Tour players, including long hitter Jang Chanmin, Jang Yoobin, Kim Hongtaek, and others. The tournament organizing committee has also prepared a range of events for spectators visiting the golf course, providing added enjoyment both inside and outside the venue.
Various prize draw events will be held for spectators. If a hole-in-one is scored on the car-sponsored hole during the tournament, a prize draw for that prize will take place. Other prizes include washing machines, drivers, refrigerators, and putters. Special benefits have also been arranged for G Membership members, who will be granted free entry to the venue. Depending on member grade, coupon draws will be distributed at different levels. There will also be a space for spectators to experience the Golfzon golf simulator firsthand, with screen hitting booths and dart event games available.
A wide selection of souvenirs and on-site events will be provided. Spectators who purchase paid tickets will receive bottled water, a commemorative tournament long umbrella, and scratch-off lottery tickets. Those who win scratch-off prizes will be able to exchange them on-site for various items such as cosmetics, camping chairs, backpacks, golf balls, shampoo, and golf gloves.
A separate Food Zone will be set up, where visitors can enjoy a variety of foods. Options will include pizza, steak, Korean snacks, beverages, and beer. Parasols will also be installed so spectators can comfortably relax and take a break.
