Enhancing Safety Management with Smart Technology... DL Publishes Sustainability Management Report
Analysis of Climate Change Risks by Group
Diversifying Portfolio with SMRs and Eco-Friendly Materials
On September 15, DL announced that it has published the DL Group's integrated 'Sustainability Management Report,' which presents the group's ESG management strategy and key achievements.
This report includes a group-wide climate scenario analysis outlining the system for responding to climate change. It analyzes the risks and opportunities that climate change may pose to each business, focusing on major affiliates. The results of this analysis are reviewed by the ESG committees and boards of directors of each affiliate and are applied to the development of management and future business strategies. DL also monitors the greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption of its major affiliates and inspects the implementation status of emission reduction plans.
DL continues to pursue efforts to turn climate change response initiatives into new business opportunities. In the petrochemical sector, DL is diversifying its business portfolio to center on eco-friendly materials. In the construction sector, it has become the first company in Korea to embark on standard design for Small Modular Reactors (SMR).
The group is also striving to create safer workplaces. Through risk assessment of business sites, DL identifies potential hazards and has reinforced on-site safety management systems using smart technology and an integrated control center.
DL Group has also conducted a double materiality assessment to manage issues that have a significant impact on sustainable management. In the environmental and governance areas, five key material issues were selected. In the environmental and social areas, workplace safety, climate change response, and sustainable supply chain management were identified as key topics. In the governance area, enhancing the corporate governance system as well as ethics and compliance management were selected as key issues.
