The Joseon royal palaces, with 600 years of history, will open the autumn festival season with music spanning generations, from Korean traditional music (gugak) to K-pop. The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the National Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Agency will host a special performance of KBS2's "Unforgettable Songs - 2026 Royal Culture Festival Special" at 5 p.m. on October 6 at the Heungnyemun Square in Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul.

The lineup includes master singer Kim Youngim, Kim Changwan Band, Lyn, Lee Seunggi, Song Gain, Heo Yongbyeol, Park Jihyun, La Poem, BTOB (Eunkwang and Minhyuk), NMIXX, Boynextdoor, Xikers, and Honey J. The excitement of the eve event will lead directly into the main festivities, which will be held across the major palaces for five days starting the next day. The autumn Royal Culture Festival will open its doors from October 7 to October 11 at Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, and Jongmyo. Visitors can enjoy activities such as "Gyeongbokgung Hanbok Banquet," where they walk the palace grounds at night dressed in hanbok; "Joseon Spatial Aesthetics: The Order of White," a crafts exhibition reinterpreting the beauty of Heejeongdang; and "Changgyeonggung Time Travel," which brings the daily life of the Joseon royal family back to life.
