CJ CheilJedang Revamps Mobile App: "Discovery-Driven Shopping Instead of Searching"
Strengthened Product Curation and Personalization Features on CJ The Market Mobile App
From 'Direct Search Shopping' to 'Discovery-Driven Shopping'
CJ CheilJedang announced on September 15 that it has revamped the mobile application (app) for its online mall, 'CJ The Market,' with a focus on evolving the customer's grocery shopping experience.
Through this renewal, the company has enabled customers to quickly and easily discover new products, trends, and benefits at a glance, and to purchase desired items more conveniently. In addition, the app now offers enhanced artificial intelligence (AI)-based curation and personalized recommendations, and optimizes key services and purchasing pathways to create a natural 'discovery-driven shopping' environment, according to the company.
The new home screen has been reorganized as a space where customers can immediately see featured products and benefits. Themed curation is offered to match the season and context, ranging from special meals to autumn camping items and simple meal kits.
The personalized recommendation feature has also been further developed. Based on customer behavior data, purchasing preferences, and order history, first-time visitors are provided with exclusive first-purchase benefits, while existing customers are presented not only with their frequently purchased favorites but also with personalized product suggestions that reflect their recent interests and preferences.
AI technology has also been applied to the content features. Moving away from the previous manual selection by operators, the app now uses AI to establish a fast and precise curation system.
The app's navigation structure has been reorganized so customers can quickly access desired features and benefits. During major promotional periods, customers are directed to relevant pages immediately upon entering the home screen. Access to frequently used menus has been enhanced and redundant information has been streamlined, reducing unnecessary navigation steps.
In addition, changes have been made to the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX), and the previously English-based logo has been updated to a new Korean logo, 'CJ더마켓.'
