Gyeonggi Special Judicial Police to Intensively Crack Down on Illegal Activities at Restaurants and Cafes in Water Source Protection Zones
From October 12 to 23, Gyeonggi Province will conduct an intensive crackdown on illegal activities at about 150 locations, including restaurants and cafes operating in business license restricted areas such as water source protection zones within the province, as well as camping-style self-barbecue sites.
Recently popular camping-style self-barbecue sites are often registered as retail businesses or space rentals, rather than as food service establishments. Due to the nature of their operations, they appear to be rental spaces or retail shops, allowing operators to bypass the requirement to register as a food service business and instead conduct business by registering as a retailer or space rental service, which is considered an illicit practice.
The Gyeonggi Province Special Judicial Police Unit will conduct a focused crackdown on illegal activities targeting over 150 establishments operating as restaurants and cafes within restricted business reporting areas, such as water source protection zones in the province, as well as camping-style self-barbeque sites, from October 12 to 23.
