Samsung Electronics Service Becomes First in Home Appliance Service Industry to Obtain 'ISMS-P' Certification
The Nation's Highest-Level Integrated Information and Personal Data Protection Certification
Successfully Passes Final Assessment on 101 Criteria
Samsung Electronics Service has demonstrated its top-level information security capabilities by becoming the first in the domestic home appliance service industry to acquire the prestigious 'ISMS-P' certification, the nation's highest-level integrated information protection and personal data protection accreditation.
On September 14, Samsung Electronics Service announced that it has officially obtained the 'ISMS-P (Information Security Management System & Personal Information Protection)' certification, which is jointly supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
This certification is awarded only after passing the demanding final evaluations of the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Financial Security Institute. To qualify, an applicant must successfully meet strict compliance assessments for a total of 101 detailed criteria, including establishing and operating an information security management system, system security management, and the implementation of protection measures at every stage of personal data processing.
Samsung Electronics Service has continually enhanced its information protection management system to create a safe environment for customers to use its services with confidence. The company first acquired the ISMS (Information Security Management System) certification in 2021 for six systems, including its website and chatbot. In 2024, Samsung Electronics Service extended the scope to include its sign language consultation and recruitment platforms, and now, with this ISMS-P certification, it has expanded its security coverage to comprehensive personal information processing management.
Additionally, to maintain robust information security, the company provides annual information security training for all executives and employees, regularly conducts simulated phishing email drills to prepare for hacking attacks, and continuously performs security checks at service centers nationwide.
