Approximately 435 billion won was invested in building the plant. Established in 2021, HD Hyundai E&F began construction of the plant in March 2024, setting up power generation and heat supply facilities over a period of about two years. After verifying facility performance and stability through phased commissioning, the company started commercial operation at the end of July 2026.
The plant is capable of producing 290MW of electricity and 321 tons of heat per hour. Utilizing a highly efficient gas turbine combined cycle system that uses LNG as a fuel, it is structured to simultaneously generate both electricity and heat energy.
The electricity and heat energy produced will be supplied to companies within the Daesan Petrochemical Complex, including H&L Advanced. HD Hyundai E&F expects to contribute to the energy cost competitiveness and production stability of tenant companies through stable energy supply.
Myungjun Song, President of HD Hyundai Oilbank, stated, "The completion of this LNG combined heat and power plant is highly significant in that it further strengthens the energy infrastructure of the Daesan Petrochemical Complex. I hope that HD Hyundai E&F will enhance the competitiveness of tenant companies and contribute to the development of the regional industry based on stable energy supply."
