Korean Air Begins Full-Scale Preparation for Integration with Asiana, Transfers Reservation Information
Asiana Airlines Flight Numbers (OZ) to Be Changed to Korean Air Flight Numbers (KE)
For Customers Departing On or After December 17
Korean Air is stepping up advance preparations for customer convenience, including the transfer of customer reservation information, ahead of the launch of the integrated airline with Asiana Airlines scheduled for December 17.
On September 14, Korean Air announced that it will conduct a "flight number change (REAC, Re-accommodation)" from November 2 to December 3, converting Asiana Airlines flight numbers to Korean Air flight numbers. This measure applies to customers who have existing Asiana Airlines reservations or have purchased tickets for departures from December 17—the launch date of the integrated airline—onwards.
This measure aims to minimize customer confusion that may arise as existing Asiana Airlines flights are converted to Korean Air flights during the integration process, and to provide stable and seamless service even after the consolidation. Korean Air plans to transfer Asiana Airlines' reservation and ticket information in advance so that customers can use their flights without inconvenience based on the updated reservation and ticket information.
Korean Air will transfer eligible reservations sequentially, taking into account system stability and customer convenience. Customers subject to flight number changes will be individually notified of the changes via notification messages, text messages, and email, to ensure they have sufficient time to review their updated reservation and ticket information before departure.
Additionally, Korean Air plans to offer a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on its website and mobile app regarding the integration with Asiana Airlines, so that customers can check key changes in advance.
