Wavus Unveils Spatial Information AI Technology at WSCE 2026... Accelerates Global Expansion
Wavus, a spatial information AI platform company, has established a foundation for its overseas expansion by unveiling artificial intelligence (AI) technologies tailored to the smart city sector.
Wavus announced on September 14 that it participated in the "2026 World Smart City Expo (WSCE 2026)" held at BEXCO in Busan from September 9 to 11, where it showcased three core technologies that combine spatial information and AI.
At the event, Wavus set up a Smart City Solutions Zone under the theme "Space Beyond Imagination" and exhibited its "GeoAI Agent that Transforms Questions into Maps," "City Safety AI," and the "UAM Integrated Control Platform," among others.
The most highlighted technology was the conversational spatial information AI platform "GeOnAI." When users make inquiries in natural language, the AI analyzes desired criteria such as building type or building age and autonomously generates relevant maps. Wavus also presented its "AI Preliminary Permit Assessment Service," which combines site information and related regulations to diagnose the feasibility of development permits in advance.
"City Safety AI" is a multimodal AI foundation model for disaster response, co-developed by Wavus, KAIST, and Data Maker. This technology integrates video, IoT sensors, meteorological data, and spatial information to predict urban disasters such as floods and fires in advance and supports proactive response measures.
In the urban air mobility (UAM) field, Wavus unveiled "GeOn AirX." This platform, based on a three-dimensional urban space realized as a digital twin, enables the design of UAM routes and integrated control of real-time flight operations and takeoff/landing facilities.
At the expo, Wavus also operated a piloting experience program allowing attendees to experience UAM technology firsthand. Visitors could control a UAM aircraft in a three-dimensional virtual city based on a digital twin, considering urban obstacles and airspace conditions as part of the simulation. The company noted that foreign visitors, in particular, showed significant interest in this program.
Wavus plans to leverage this exhibition as a springboard for expanding its overseas business. Based on the business consultations held onsite and the strong interest from overseas stakeholders, the company aims to identify follow-up projects and collaboration opportunities to accelerate its entry into global markets.
According to Wavus, both GeOnAI—which enables the use of spatial information on maps regardless of language—and City Safety AI—which supports the entire process from disaster prediction to response—received positive evaluations from international stakeholders.
