Gangbuk District Closes Two Unreported Businesses in Uidong Valley
Operating Without Registration for Over 20 Years
Seal Stickers Placed on Kitchen Ranges and Refrigerators
On September 14, the Gangbuk District Office (headed by District Mayor Jung Changsu) announced that it had ordered the closure of two food service establishments in the Insucheon area of Uidong Valley that had been operating without reporting their business as required by law on September 12.
Gangbuk District posted notices at the entrances of unregistered businesses in the Insucheon area on the 12th. Provided by Gangbuk District.

Even during a special inspection period targeting illegal occupation of rivers and valleys and unauthorized commercial activities, they remained in business. The district office attempted to persuade the owners to voluntarily close by leading them toward self-closure, but after illegal operations persisted, decided to impose a closure order.
Last month, after receiving legal counsel, the district office sent a prior notification of disposition to the business owners and completed the procedure for submitting opinions. The closure measures were enforced on the 12th. On the same day, notices were posted at the business entrances stating that they were not legally authorized establishments, and seal stickers were attached to kitchen ranges, refrigerators, and other business facilities to restrict their use.
After the closures, the district plans to continuously monitor any illegal activities in the Insucheon area through dedicated surveillance personnel. Should seals or notices be arbitrarily removed or damaged, or if the businesses resume operations, the scope of the seal will be expanded to cover the entire premises, including the kitchens and guest rooms. The district also intends to encourage voluntary closure of other remaining unreported businesses in the Insucheon area.
