Vigloo to Host Global AI Short Drama Competition
Vigloo Short Drama Festival
Pilot Submissions Open Until October 11
SpoonLabs announced on September 14 that it will host the 2026 Vigloo Short Drama Festival, a global artificial intelligence (AI) short drama competition with a total prize pool of $20,000, via its short drama platform Vigloo.
The competition, which centers on South Korea, the United States, and Japan, will utilize Vigloo's proprietary AI production platform, Vigloo Studio. The contest's theme is "Three Minutes That Leave You Wanting More." Creators who wish to participate must submit a three-minute AI short drama pilot video by October 11.
Twenty teams whose entries pass the internal screening will advance to the finals. Their works will be posted on the Vigloo platform at the end of October, where rankings will be determined based on viewer data. Of these, five teams will be selected as final winners in November: the first place team will receive $10,000; each of the two second place teams will receive $3,000; and each of the two third place teams will be awarded $2,000. All submitted works, including the final winners, will be given the opportunity to proceed to formal production through an additional review process.
To create an environment where creators can participate without cost burdens, Vigloo has introduced a pre-registration and tiered credit reimbursement system. The first 300 people who pre-register will be awarded 5,000 credits, which can be used for content production. Generally, 5,000 credits are sufficient to create five to six 30-second videos at 720p resolution.
Vigloo plans to host competitions on a regular basis in order to build a creator development pipeline—from discovering new talent to full-scale content collaboration. The objective is not only to provide prize money, but also to establish a structure that connects Vigloo Studio (in charge of production) and the Vigloo platform (in charge of distribution), enabling the process from discovery to content creation.
