Live Nationwide Broadcast at Five National Science Museums on October 7, Launch Day
In the lead-up to the fifth launch of the Nuri rocket on October 7, space science experience events, special exhibitions, and talk concerts that invite public participation are being held across the country. In Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, there will also be a demonstration featuring a full-scale model of the Nuri rocket, standing 27.2 meters tall.
The Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) and the National Gwacheon Science Museum announced on September 14 that they will host the “Nuri Rocket Fifth Launch Commemoration—‘Space Ro! Space Science Day’” at the Gwacheon Science Museum on September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A “Success Wish Message Wall,” where participants can personally write messages wishing for the success of the fifth Nuri rocket launch, as well as a Nuri Rocket Stamp Tour that encourages visitors to explore the event space, will also be available.
Notably, around 4:00 p.m., there will be a demonstration where a full-scale, functioning model of the Nuri rocket, measuring 27.2 meters in height and 3.5 meters in diameter, is erected. An event will also be held for spectators to take commemorative photos with the model, wishing for a successful fifth launch of the Nuri rocket.
In the planetarium, a talk concert will be held featuring Hongkyu Moon, Principal Researcher at the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, and Isang Yoo, Senior Researcher at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. They will discuss topics including lunar, Martian, and asteroid exploration, the role of Korean launch vehicles, and how the Nuri rocket reaches space, engaging with the audience throughout.
'Nuri Rocket Countdown' Continues in Sacheon and Goheung
Space culture events celebrating the Nuri rocket launch will continue nationwide.
On September 19, the city of Sacheon will hold family-oriented aerospace culture programs, including a national youth water rocket competition and a Mars rover assembly experience, at Sacheon Sports Complex. The Sacheon Aerospace Science Museum is also running the “Let’s Go to Space on a Rocket” program from September to November.
At the Naro Space Center Science Museum in Goheung, South Jeolla Province—where the Nuri rocket will be launched—a special exhibition for the “Nuri Rocket Fifth Launch” will open on September 23. On September 28, the Korea Aerospace Administration will host a civic space aerospace talk concert titled “Nuri Rocket: Our Imagination Becomes Reality” at Sacheon City Hall.
On the day of the launch, the entire nation will watch the flight of the Nuri rocket together. On October 7, five national science museums across the country—including the National Science Museum, the National Gwacheon Science Museum, the National Gwangju Science Museum, the National Daegu Science Museum, and the National Busan Science Museum—plan to screen promotional videos about the Nuri rocket and provide live coverage of the launch site.
Tae seog Oh, Director of the Korea Aerospace Administration, stated, “This fifth launch of the Nuri rocket marks a crucial milestone that demonstrates a new leap forward in Korea’s space technology,” and added, “We hope this will be an opportunity for people to directly experience the meaning and achievements of space development through education and cultural programs, enabling them to nurture their dreams for the future of the space era.”
