BaroPharm Launches Pharmacy-Exclusive AI 'OTC Agent'...Expanding AX for Pharmacy Operations
Healthcare AX platform company BaroPharm is expanding the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to pharmacy management support by introducing an AI service exclusively for pharmacies.
On September 14, BaroPharm announced the launch of 'OTC Agent', an AI-powered tool that allows pharmacists to check over-the-counter (OTC) drug information necessary for pharmacy management.
OTC Agent is a pharmacy-exclusive AI agent embedded in BaroPharm’s PharmAllPlus ‘OTC Plus (OTC+)’ service. When pharmacists ask for specific OTC information, they can receive conversational responses regarding price, symptoms, ingredients, usage, cautions, and alternatives. This service aims to minimize the time and inconvenience of having to search for and compare various information, streamlining the information retrieval process in pharmacy operations.
OTC Plus provides information by category and medical department, ‘selling reviews’ written by pharmacists themselves, pharmacy sales rankings, and a range of other resources useful for pharmacy management. Through the release of OTC Agent, BaroPharm has expanded its service by incorporating AI into its information search functions, allowing pharmacists to access necessary information simply by asking questions.
This new service launch is part of BaroPharm’s ongoing push for pharmacy work transformation (AX). The company has consistently expanded services essential for pharmacy operation, including medication ordering, and recently has been progressively deploying AI features to improve on-site work efficiency at pharmacies.
In the future, the company plans to add AI features such as price fluctuation analysis to further support pharmacy operations. The strategy is to help pharmacists swiftly and easily access the information they need while expanding AI use across all aspects of pharmacy work.
To commemorate the launch of OTC Agent, BaroPharm is running an event for new pharmacist members until September 30. Various benefits will be given to members who use OTC Agent and participate in community certification activities.
