FlexSystem Signs Supply Contract with Ferige Aerospace
FlexSystem has signed a supply contract with Ferige Aerospace.
According to FlexSystem on September 14, this contract marks the concrete business partnership that follows a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed in March between FlexSystem and Ferige Aerospace for the joint development of a "modular methane engine combustion test facility capable of mobility and standardization."
FlexSystem is the only company in Korea with experience in building test facilities for large-scale space launch vehicles. The company constructed test infrastructure for the Naroho (KSLV-I) and Nuriho (KSLV-II) space launch vehicles. It possesses core technologies including high-precision measurement, real-time integrated control, and high-speed time synchronization under conditions of extreme cryogenic, high-temperature, and high-pressure environments required for combustion tests. Recently, FlexSystem's technological competitiveness gained recognition by passing a technology evaluation during its process of seeking a technology special listing.
The "mobile methane engine combustion test facility" developed by the two companies is designed to verify a wide range of space launch vehicle propulsion systems that require pre-launch testing, without being tied to a specific launch vehicle or a fixed space center. As the global space industry shifts to a commercial NewsSpace market led by private companies, small space launch vehicles focused on economic feasibility and reusable methane engines are increasingly preferred. Consequently, demand is expected to grow for the "modular methane engine combustion test facility capable of mobility and standardization" being developed by both firms.
