"Take a Local Foodie Tour"... Yeongdeungpo Offers Souvenirs for Collecting 'Gourmet Passport' Stamps
Three Key Areas: Yeongdeungpo, Mullae, Yangpyeong-Dangsan
Linked with Local Festivals such as the Beer Festival and Seonyudo Won Festival
Yeongdeungpo District in Seoul (District Mayor Cho Yujin) announced on September 14 that it will operate a "Local Gourmet Stamp Tour," where tourists can visit local restaurants and record their culinary experiences. Much like getting passport stamps during overseas travel, visitors fill up a "Gourmet Passport" as they explore.
The district has produced a "Gourmet Passport" in the form of a scrapbook, where users can write reviews and rate the restaurants. The design closely resembles an actual passport and includes information on major tourist attractions and recommended courses. Instead of collecting stamps, participants attach restaurant receipts to the passport and post reviews to their personal social media channels.
The passport content covers three areas: Yeongdeungpo-dong, Mullae-dong, and Yangpyeong·Dangsan-dong. The unique characteristics of each region—such as the history of Yeongdeungpo-dong, the charm of Mullae-dong, and the waterfront space of Yangpyeong·Dangsan-dong—are introduced through themes like culture, shopping, and history.
Participants can register in advance on the Yeongdeungpo District website or authenticate via QR code at local festival sites to receive a passport from September 15 to December 20. By visiting at least five restaurants, attaching their receipts, and uploading a certified post to social media, participants can receive a passport case as a souvenir.
The district also plans to provide passports at various local festivals scheduled for the second half of the year, such as the "Yeongdeungpo Original Beer Festival" and the "Mullae Network Arts Festival" in September, and the "Seonyudo Won Festival" in October, in an effort to draw visitors to neighborhood businesses.
