View original imageAccording to the Hwaseong city government on the 14th, the "2026 Hwaseong Special City World Culture Festival" was held to commemorate the 19th World Day for Cultural Diversity at Hyangnam Dowon Sports Park on the 13th. The event aimed to foster a local community that understands each other's cultures and respects diversity, transcending nationality, ethnicity, and generations.
The festival began with an African traditional performance and a country entrance parade featuring residents from 17 countries. Participants dressed in their traditional costumes showcased their national cultures, and everyone sang "Beautiful Country" together to emphasize unity.
The first part of the ceremony featured commendations for individuals who have contributed to the development of a multicultural society and a celebratory performance by a multicultural choir. In the second part, ten teams of foreign residents participated in a singing contest, delivering lively song and dance performances on stage.

The event venue also included experience zones where visitors could experience the traditional cultures of seven countries, a world food zone, and a promotional zone.
