It is estimated that up to 1,200 students were unable to submit their college application forms due to a system failure during the rolling admissions application period. The Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education have announced that they will accept petitions for relief for three days starting from September 14.

View original imageThe Ministry of Education stated on September 13 that, in relation to the rolling admissions application system failure, "Out of approximately 2.61 million college applications, it is estimated that up to 1,200 students were unable to complete their applications due to the system outage."
Petitions for relief concerning the college application system failure can be submitted from 9:00 a.m. on September 14 to 6:00 p.m. on September 16. Applications can be made through the relief petition board, which will be set up on the homepage of 'UwayApply', the company handling application processing.
Previously, at approximately 5:50 p.m. on September 11, an error occurred in the UwayApply submission system, resulting in some applicants being unable to successfully complete their applications and payments. The Korean Council for University Education extended the application deadline from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., but applicants still experienced significant confusion.
