On September 13, KT announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AmLogic at the IBC 2026, a media-focused exhibition held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to establish a stable supply system for key chipsets for media devices.

AmLogic is a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Mountain View, California, USA. The two companies have long cooperated in the media sector, including jointly developing the world's first 8K Android TV set-top box.

Through this agreement, KT plans to respond to global semiconductor supply chain risks and enhance the stability of its media services. At the same time, KT will provide its partner company with a stable business foundation and continue to pursue technology cooperation for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) functions and service upgrades, in addition to supplying system-on-chip (SoC) solutions in the future.

At IBC 2026, KT established the “KT Global Coexistence Growth Pavilion” in cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Federation of SMEs and Agribusinesses, and supported the global market expansion of eight domestic media sector partners. These partner companies are Marthsys, Osung Electronics, Energize, Castis, Lunart, Filer, Steelcut, and XL8AI.

In addition, starting from September 21, KT will participate in the “ECOC 2026” optical communication exhibition in Spain with five partner companies—NWC, JSCOM, Wooriro, Huiraphotonics, and Soltech Infonet—to support export marketing for global buyers.

Kwon Hye-jin, Executive Vice President and Head of SCM Division at KT, said, “We expect that this agreement will secure supply chain competitiveness for media device chipsets and serve as an opportunity to export our partners’ excellent technologies and products.” She added, “We will continue to develop a private-public partnership model for global expansion led by cooperation between government agencies, major corporations, and SMEs.”
