Chuseok Traditional Liquor Pop-Up Opens... Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch Showcases Award-Winning "Dohan Cheongmyeongju"
Tasting Sessions for New Editions and Limited Edition Sales
With the Chuseok holiday approaching, a pop-up store for consumers seeking traditional liquor will be held at a department store in Busan.
Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch announced on the 13th that it will operate a pop-up store featuring the traditional liquor brand "Dohan Cheongmyeongju" at the special exhibition space on Basement Level 1 through September 23.
Dohan Cheongmyeongju is a yakju (refined rice wine) crafted by Han Youngseok, Korea’s first officially designated master of nuruk (fermentation starter), in Jeongeup, North Jeolla Province. It is made using only house-made nuruk, rice, and water, fermented and aged at a low temperature.
It is characterized by a fruity aroma and acidity reminiscent of white wine. Dohan Cheongmyeongju received the grand prize in the yakju category at the 2026 Korea Alcoholic Beverage Awards and was also selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ 2026 "On-Site Brewery Program."
At this pop-up, tasting sessions will be offered for Dohan Cheongmyeongju’s new editions with 13.8% and 18.6% alcohol content. Limited edition products will also be available for purchase.
