Over 500 Citizens and Public Officials Attend to Share Investment Strategies
Park Sidong, Director of the Goldilocks Economic Research Institute, emphasized that the goal of investing should not be limited to simple asset accumulation. He said, "You must first ask yourself what kind of life you want to lead," stressing that investment should be approached as an issue of 'economic sovereignty,' meaning the ability to determine one's own life.
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Jeonnam, hosted the Gwangsan Academy at the Gwangsan Culture and Arts Center on the 11th, inviting Director Park as the guest speaker. The lecture, titled "The Outlook of the Korean Economy in the Era of KOSPI 10,000 and Wise Investment Strategies," drew more than 500 attendees, including citizens and public officials.

He said, "There are multiple reasons why the Korean market has stagnated compared to the stock market growth rates of major countries, including corporate governance issues and dividend policies." He added, "KOSPI 10,000 is not just a matter of stock prices rising, but a level that can only be reached when the profits and value of Korean companies are properly recognized."
He also noted that while individuals should take the lead as main agents in investment, becoming wealthy should not be the ultimate objective.
Director Park stated, "The objective of investing should be not just about accumulating wealth, but about deciding what kind of life you want to live," and emphasized, "Investment is not only about increasing one's personal assets; it is about gaining the power to lead one's own life—essentially, a matter of economic sovereignty."
After the lecture, there was a question-and-answer session where citizens asked questions about the economy and investment.
Park Byungkyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, commented, "It was an opportunity for citizens and public officials to develop their perspectives on the economy and market, and to gain criteria for evaluating the relationship between life and investment," adding, "We will continue to provide learning opportunities that empower citizens in their daily lives."
