Samsung Electronics will finalize the participating classes after discussing details such as the teacher, class schedule, and preferred subject. Afterwards, professional and assistant instructors will visit the classroom to conduct the program using Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
The purpose of the class is to help future generations better understand and utilize AI responsibly. The first session covers 'AI Basic Literacy,' where students learn fundamental AI concepts, ethics, and applications through both theory and practice, and acquire ways to use AI responsibly. The second session features 'Galaxy AI Practice,' which centers on creative experiential activities designed to broaden students’ perspectives, including topics such as career, drawing, environment, history, and travel. Each participating class can choose one of five subjects and learn how to apply AI in their area of interest.
Since its launch in the first semester of last year, about 1,000 schools have participated in the Galaxy AI Class, with the number of students completing the program reaching 175,000. In a satisfaction survey conducted during the first semester of this year, 94.5% of students and 99.8% of teachers reported being satisfied. Samsung Electronics plans to teach an additional 70,000 students in the second semester of this year, thereby offering more than 250,000 students over the two years the opportunity to experience AI firsthand.
