Hands-on Experiences with AI Perfume Kiosks and Humanoid Robots
Geumcheon-gu in Seoul (District Mayor: Choi Ki-chan) will hold the "8th Geumcheon Science Festival" around the Geumcheon District Office on September 18-19. This year's festival, under the slogan "A Vibrant Future Geumcheon Communicating with AI," will feature 33 programs including exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and performances related to cutting-edge science such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics.
At the Geumcheon District Office plaza, visitors can create personalized perfumes guided by AI and interact closely with state-of-the-art robots such as the X2 humanoid robot and the four-legged robot dog. In the district office lobby, an AI-powered automatic piano will be installed. On the 12th floor in the grand auditorium, participants can experience "Vibe Coding," where ideas described in everyday (natural) language are implemented by AI as executable code.
Exhibitions by two companies based in G-Valley that participated in the world's largest consumer electronics and IT show, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), will also be available. Family-friendly performances and exhibitions have been prepared as well. On the main stage at the Sunken Plaza, there will be a science magic show, a bubble show, a science musical, and performances by youth clubs. At the Water Splash Zone, visitors can enjoy an escape room bus and a virtual reality (VR) motion simulator experience.
The festival's official opening ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. on September 19. There will be an AI-generated video offering a virtual journey through the present and future of Geumcheon as transformed by science and technology, as well as a dance performance by a humanoid robot.
