Iranian President Targets US, Says "No Need for Policeman in Middle East"
Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, made comments aimed at the United States, stating that there is no need for a police force to operate in the Middle East.
According to AFP and other sources on September 12 (local time), President Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, ahead of the opening of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, India. He said, "We do not need a regional policeman."
President Pezeshkian emphasized, "Territorial integrity and security in this region (the Middle East) can only be guaranteed by the main stakeholders and the countries that make up this region."
He further stated, "Despite all the injustices our people have suffered, we neither want war nor wish for it to continue," adding, "Peace remains our top priority."

Previously, President Pezeshkian also gave a speech to religious leaders and business figures in New Delhi, in which he declared, "The Iranian people will not surrender to the United States."
