BJFEZ Takes First Step in AI Training for Resident Companies... Partners with Four Universities in Busan and Gyeongnam
Collaboration with Nine Organizations Including University Anchor Project Teams
AI and Data Training Tailored to Manufacturing and Logistics Fields
Busanjin-Hae Economic Free Zone Authority (BJFEZ), led by Commissioner Park Seongho, is taking its first step toward supra-regional industry-academic cooperation, connecting the educational capabilities of universities in Busan and Gyeongnam with the industrial demands of companies located within the economic free zone.
BJFEZ announced that as the first joint project under the "Supra-regional Anchor Project Partnership Agreement" signed on September 1, it will offer AI education for employees of resident companies in collaboration with Changwon National University starting from September 11.
The program, consisting of four sessions, will be held every Friday until October 16 at the first-floor promotional hall of BJFEZ. Professors from Changwon National University will focus on generative AI, prompt engineering, industrial artificial intelligence, and AI-based innovation in manufacturing and logistics, teaching practical applications in each field.
Latest technologies, such as digital twin, simulation-based decision-making, ontology, and knowledge graphs, will also be addressed. The curriculum has been designed, based on a preliminary demand survey, to focus on AI and data fields with high common demand among resident companies.
This project involves a total of nine organizations and groups, including anchor project teams from four universities (Pusan National University, Changwon National University, Korea Maritime & Ocean University, and Inje University), the Busan and Gyeongnam Anchor Centers, BJFEZ, the BJFEZ Resident Companies Association, and the Foreign-Invested Companies Council.
BJFEZ plans to expand both common job training and customized education by sector—including logistics, manufacturing, and shipbuilding equipment. It will also broaden cooperation into areas such as field training, internships, and joint industry-academic projects.
