Three Mobile Carriers Begin iPhone 18 Pro Pre-Orders... Race for Discounts and Compensation
Discounts, Trade-in Offers, and Subscription Benefits
The three mobile carriers have begun efforts to attract customers through pre-orders for Apple's new products, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
According to industry sources on September 11, SK Telecom will offer giveaways (vouchers) through a Lucky Roulette event at its official online mall, T Direct Shop, until the 18th. Customers who purchase the new 256GB or 512GB models will receive vouchers worth up to 200,000 won, while those purchasing the 1TB or 2TB models will receive vouchers worth up to 300,000 won.
Customers who trade in their current device can receive compensation of up to 1,220,000 won based on a grade A iPhone 17 Pro 256GB. Additionally, with the "Mintit ALL Compensation" and "Used Phone Additional Compensation" promotions, they can receive up to 150,000 won in extra benefits. Furthermore, those who pay with a Hyundai Card may enjoy a 36-month interest-free installment plan and a coupon pack, depending on their card type and previous month's spending. Discount coupons are also distributed via the T Direct Shop's official KakaoTalk channel.
KT offers a delivery service that enables pre-order customers to receive their products on the official release day. Through KT Direct Shop, customers can benefit from a 25% optional contract discount, a 7% monthly fee discount, and a total fee discount of up to 32% over 24 months. By using a partner credit card, customers can receive cashback and additional device bill discounts, for a total benefit of up to approximately 1,440,000 won.
Until the 30th, customers who sign up for "Choice Double Device" can select AirPods Pro 3 and, in that case, do not need to pay for the device itself on a 24-month installment plan—though installment fees are separate. Additional benefits include coverage for device loss, theft, or damage and future residual value protection through the "365 Phone Care" and "Phone Change i18 Service."
LG Uplus is also offering pre-order customers up to 200,000 won in device discount coupons, which can be used upon activation through the U+ Official Online Store. A "morning delivery" service is also available for those who want their device first thing on the official release day. For customers trading in their old phones, up to 180,000 won will be added on top of the basic used-phone compensation.
The carrier also operates programs such as "Phone Replacement Pass" and "Compensation Pass," designed to reduce the burden of iPhone 18 repairs and replacements. Customers enrolled in the Compensation Pass program can be compensated for up to 50% of the device's original retail price after two years. In addition, all three mobile carriers are offering discounts on the latest accessories, such as AirPods, for customers who sign up for high-priced plans.
