Yangcheon District to Hold "National Specialty Direct Market" at Yangcheon Park on the 17th and 18th
Free Same-Day Delivery and One-Hour Complimentary Parking
Yangcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Kijae) announced on the 11th that it will host the "2026 Chuseok Direct Agricultural Market" at Yangcheon Park on September 17 and 18 to celebrate the upcoming Chuseok holiday, selling regional specialty products from all over the country in one location.
The market will be open for two days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and this year, 79 businesses from 43 local governments across Korea will participate. The event will offer regional agricultural, seafood, and livestock products, in-season fruits, and other local specialties for sale.
The district organized the participants mainly from companies recommended by its sister city and cooperative regions, and adjusted the product list to prevent overlapping items. For example, Wando County (a sister city) will bring seaweed, laver, and anchovies; Hongcheon County will offer honey, makjang (a soybean paste), and bellflower roots; and Ganghwa County will present turnip kimchi and ginger extract. This year, new additions such as halloumi cheese and apple snails have been included along with staple seasonal fruits, seafood, and sauces.
To help residents shop for the holidays more conveniently, additional services will be provided. Purchases can be delivered for free within Yangcheon District on the same day, and buyers will receive a one-hour free parking ticket usable at the on-street public parking lot in front of the venue. There will also be a self-packaging booth equipped with boxes and packaging materials for customers to pack their purchases themselves.
The market also serves as a platform for sharing with neighbors. Participating companies voluntarily donate up to 5% of their sales profits either in cash or goods, and the donations collected will be delivered to underprivileged residents within the district through the Yangcheon Love Welfare Foundation. According to the district, a total of 31.5 million won has been raised since 2023, with 3.91 million won collected at last year’s Chuseok market alone.
