Asked ‘Where to Invest $10,000’: “Water, Luxury Goods, and Korea”…Foreign Experts Say “Still Undervalued”
"Korea Is the Most Undervalued AI Investment"
Positive Outlook for Water and Luxury Goods Markets
Korean stocks are currently garnering attention as experts recommend them as an attractive investment destination.
According to the U.S. financial media outlet Bloomberg, when they recently asked asset management experts, “If you had $10,000 (about 13.4 million won), where would you invest it?”, the responses included water, luxury goods, and “Korea.” Bloomberg is publishing a series of articles that explores experts’ investment advice based on the size of capital, such as “If you had $100,000,” or “If you had $1 million.”

Regarding water, Ian Harnett, a strategist at market research firm Absolute Strategy, emphasized that “by 2030, global water demand will exceed supply by 40%,” and highlighted that “an additional $13 trillion in water-related investments will be needed by 2040, and only about half of this has been secured so far.”
As for luxury goods, the market is expanding beyond expensive products such as bags, watches, and automobiles to cover experiences like travel, wellness, and gastronomy, with this trend now becoming evident.
In the case of Korea, experts stressed that the domestic stock market is undervalued compared to the global artificial intelligence (AI) boom. Russ Koesterich, a strategist at BlackRock, noted, “Korean conglomerates are direct beneficiaries of the endless semiconductor demand from AI—especially memory chips.” He went on to compare them to “the picks and shovels of the AI gold rush,” adding, “Korean equities are unusually inexpensive in the current wave of AI-related investments.”
