Participants included Vanina Paoli-Gagin, French senator and special advisor for economic, finance, industrial and digital sovereignty, as well as representatives from both countries' governments and related agencies, the Public Officials Benefit Association, Korea Investment Corporation, and various venture capital and investment institutions from both countries.
This year marks the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France. The summit was organized to review the venture investment cooperation that has been built between both countries, and to expand these relationships into further investment and business cooperation between policy finance institutions, private investors, and innovative companies.
During the event, participants shared insights into the venture investment ecosystems and deep tech industry landscapes of both countries. They discussed potential joint investment opportunities that could be discovered by both countries' investment institutions in the global venture investment market, as well as possible future avenues for cooperation. There were also discussions on ways to connect promising deep tech companies from both sides with global capital and overseas markets.
At the summit, Korea Venture Investment signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the French Public Investment Bank to strengthen and further develop the venture investment ecosystems and cooperation between the two countries. In addition, there was a signing ceremony for the creation of global funds by French VCs AVP Capital and Omnes Capital.
Korea Venture Investment has invested in a total of 15 European funds, including 9 in France and 4 in the UK, bolstering its partnerships within the European venture investment market. Building on this foundation, the company plans to further reinforce its network among European VCs and promising domestic ventures and startups, and expand tangible cooperation such as investment, joint business initiatives, and overseas market entry.
The event also featured an investor relations (IR) session for companies. Conducted under Korea Venture Investment’s global IR brand 'KEYNECT,' the session included Amoji, Quadminer, and Hope, who presented their core technologies, business models, and global growth strategies to attendees from both countries' venture capital firms. This summit was the first official overseas IR event following the launch of the 'KEYNECT' brand.
Lee Daehee, CEO of Korea Venture Investment, said, "We will continue to expand our cooperative network with major investment institutions in France and the broader European region, helping outstanding domestic companies gain smoother access to global capital and markets."
