Kim Minseok Vows to Push for Follow-up Selections
The Democratic Party Daegu City Branch announced on September 10 that Kim Minseok, leader of the Democratic Party, stated during the Supreme Council meeting held on the 9th that he would ask the government to accelerate the selection of follow-up candidates for the “Creation of 10 Seoul National Universities” project and to expand the scope of the institutions selected, if necessary.
In a statement released that day, the Democratic Party Daegu City Branch said, “Not only Jeonbuk National University as mentioned by Leader Kim Minseok, but also in order to promote balanced development in the Daegu–North Gyeongsang region as another axis of growth, we will actively recommend to both the government and the party that Kyungpook National University be included among the follow-up support candidates, and we will do our best on this front.” The statement added, “Locally driven growth must begin with establishing a foundation for collective growth so that no region is left behind.”
