Daewoo E&C Supports Field Application of Innovative Technologies from Construction Startups
Open Innovation Day Held at Headquarters on September 8
Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced that it held the Open Innovation Day at its headquarters in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) on September 8, 2026. As part of its open innovation program aimed at discovering promising early-stage companies and supporting technological and business collaborations with on-site departments, the event featured a staged evaluation of 164 technologies submitted across five categories. Nine innovative technologies, selected through this process, underwent final evaluation on this day.
The participating companies presented their innovative technologies and business ideas. Those who underwent the final evaluation were: ▲ Smart safety and quality category: HILOCAL, Construction Partner ▲ AI category: Edit Collective, Carillon, TwoFeet, Starcium ▲ Robotics and automation category: Gore Robotics ▲ Port and airport category: Spanner ▲ Innovative ideas category: Robotom.

The technologies discovered during this event will be reviewed in stages so that they can potentially be applied to the company’s businesses or projects. KICT will provide support for technology verification and commercialization by identifying promising startups in the smart construction field and offering proof of concept (PoC) funding for technology validation.
