The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility of installing a boarding and alighting facility within the GTX-A train depot, aiming to enhance the business feasibility and location competitiveness of the Unjeong Technovalley integrated development project.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues such as the selection of candidate sites for facilities linked to Unjeong Technovalley, the possibility of establishing a simple station, and train operation plans. They also shared the results of transportation demand forecasts and benefit-cost (B/C) analysis.
The city expects that the new boarding and alighting facility will greatly improve transportation accessibility for businesses and employees located within Unjeong Technovalley. It also anticipates that the addition of a GTX-A stop in the Paju area will enhance the competitiveness of the integrated development project and create an effect by reinvesting development profits back into the local community.
To increase the public credibility of the project, Paju City is primarily considering a public-sector development approach involving Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH). If economic feasibility is confirmed through the feasibility study, the city plans to include the installation of the new facility in the GH commercialization plan and proceed with investment procedures for a new public enterprise project.
