Accelerating Market Share Expansion Across Europe
Celltrion's omalizumab biosimilar 'Omniclo' is rapidly expanding its presence in the European market, surpassing a 90% market share in Spain. Celltrion plans to accelerate its market share gains in key markets, leveraging its sales network established across 26 European countries.
According to Celltrion on September 10, Omniclo achieved over 90% market share in the Spanish omalizumab market as of July 2026. In Italy, sales performance also exceeded the company's initial business targets.
Omniclo is an omalizumab biosimilar used for the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria and allergic asthma. After launching Omniclo in Europe at the end of last year, Celltrion expanded the lineup in August 2026 by introducing a 300mg formulation. Currently, Omniclo is available in 26 European countries.
To scale the early market success seen in Spain and Italy to other European nations, Celltrion is strengthening its participation in country-specific bidding processes and heightening marketing efforts aimed at healthcare professionals. As part of this strategy, the company participated in the '2026 European Respiratory Society (ERS)' held in Barcelona, Spain, from September 5 to 9, to showcase Omniclo's product competitiveness directly to local healthcare professionals. ERS is the largest respiratory medical congress in Europe, attended by approximately 20,000 healthcare practitioners and researchers worldwide each year.
Celltrion introduced various dosage forms—75mg, 150mg, and 300mg—as well as diverse devices, such as pre-filled syringes (PFS) and autoinjectors (AI), at its independent booth at the conference. The company emphasized that a range of options based on patient condition and treatment settings allows for greater flexibility and choice in clinical practice.
Celltrion also highlighted product strengths such as storage stability, user convenience, latex-free composition, and a robust supply capability. The booth featured an area where healthcare professionals could directly experience these devices and verify these product attributes themselves.
In addition to product competitiveness, Celltrion promoted the clinical value of omalizumab. On the second day of the event, September 6, an 'Expert Insights' session was held to discuss the clinical significance of omalizumab and its real-world applications. Roland Buhl, Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Mainz in Germany, participated as a speaker, sharing insights into the clinical usefulness and long-term safety of omalizumab—an anti-immunoglobulin E therapy—in patients with allergic asthma.

Going forward, the company plans to further enhance its bidding, academic, sales, and marketing activities based on the specific market environment in each country, while also expanding its network with healthcare institutions and professionals that influence product procurement and prescription decisions, in addition to its traditional sales activities focused on bidding organizations.
A Celltrion representative stated, "With Omniclo's sales base now established across 26 European countries, we are seeing meaningful early results in key markets like Spain and Italy. By offering a variety of dosages, devices, and stable supply capabilities, we will strengthen bidding and academic engagement with healthcare professionals in each country, and expand our proven market penetration model throughout Europe."
