Daegu Education Office to Recruit 176 Kindergarten, Elementary, and Special School Teachers... Six Private School Positions Also Entrusted for Selection
The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eunhee) announced the implementation plan for the '2027 Daegu Metropolitan City Kindergarten, Elementary School, and Special School (Kindergarten, Elementary) Teacher Candidate Selection and Competitive Examination' through its official website on September 9.
The number of teachers to be recruited for the 2027 academic year totals 176, including 20 for kindergartens, 132 for elementary schools, 2 for special schools (kindergarten), and 22 for special schools (elementary). This is an increase of 77 compared to the 2026 academic year.
Applications can only be submitted online through the 'Online Teacher Recruitment System' over five days, from 9 a.m. on September 28 to 6 p.m. on October 2.
The first exam will be held on November 7, 2026, and the second exam will take place over three days, from January 6 to January 8, 2027. The final successful candidates will be announced on January 27, 2027.
Meanwhile, following the removal of the validity period for the Korean History Proficiency Test scores starting with the 2024 teacher appointment examination, all scores from the 80th test (Level 3 or higher) will be recognized for this exam.

Additionally, for private elementary schools, the recruitment process is conducted independently by each foundation, so applicants should refer to the notifications on each foundation and school's official website. For the 2027 academic year, six new elementary special school teachers will be selected at private schools, with the first exam entrusted to the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education.
