Under the agreement, the two companies plan to jointly carry out a modernization project to replace aging coal-fired combined heat and power plants with liquefied natural gas (LNG) combined heat and power facilities. GS E&R expressed its expectation that “by reducing carbon emissions resulting from energy use by companies in industrial complexes, this will help strengthen export competitiveness within these industrial parks.”

The company plans to work with Korea Southern Power on ▲establishing LNG conversion and modernization business plans, ▲conducting technological reviews for supplying environmentally friendly heat and electricity, and ▲undertaking business feasibility studies and responding to regulatory processes.
