Laying the Groundwork for Expanded Sales Channels through Collaboration with Retailers
In response to the difficulties faced by abalone farms suffering from the economic downturn and weakened consumer sentiment, Wando County in Jeonnam-Gwangju has rolled up its sleeves to support them. On September 9, Wando County announced that, in celebration of the Chuseok holiday, it will be hosting a special sales event for premium Wando abalone raised in clean seas, in collaboration with Lotte Mart.
At the special sales event held the previous day at the Lotte Mart World Cup Branch in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, Kim Shin, Governor of Wando County, visited in person to assess the current abalone sales trends and shared opinions with mart officials on expanding abalone distribution channels. In addition, he actively engaged in promoting abalone to visitors, explaining its excellence and conducting promotional activities.

He added, "I hope many people will purchase abalone to support abalone farms that are struggling due to the economic downturn and sluggish consumption."
From September 10 to 16, Lotte Mart stores nationwide will be holding a Chuseok holiday gift exhibition featuring Wando abalone. Taking this collaboration with Lotte Mart as an opportunity, the county plans to expand abalone sales channels by partnering with large retail companies and other distribution outlets.
During the upcoming Chuseok holiday, marketing campaigns will be carried out through both online and offline discount events and direct sales markets in major cities, enabling consumers to purchase abalone at reasonable prices while supporting abalone farms.
