Public School Recruitment Decreases by 82 Positions
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced the implementation plan for the '2027 Teacher Candidate Selection Competitive Examination for Public and Private Kindergartens, Elementary Schools, and Special Schools' through its website on September 9, 2026.
The number of teachers scheduled to be recruited for public schools totals 287, including 51 kindergarten teachers, 192 elementary school teachers (including 10 for district-specific recruitment), 6 special school (kindergarten) teachers, and 38 special school (elementary) teachers. This represents a decrease of 82 positions compared to last year's recruitment of 369 teachers.
For private schools, a total of 4 teachers will be recruited—2 elementary school teachers and 2 special school (elementary) teachers—through delegation from two private school foundations.
Applications will be accepted online through the teacher recruitment system for five days, from September 28 to October 2, 2026.
The first exam will be held on November 7, 2026, and the second exam will take place from January 6 to 8, 2027. The final successful candidates are scheduled to be announced on January 27, 2027.
