Coverage has been improved in three areas—protection based on the number of treatments, integration of diagnosis categories, and comprehensive coverage throughout the treatment journey—aiming to reduce protection gaps and increase customer convenience.
First, the 'Integrated Cancer Coverage and Accidental Death Rider' now pays out insurance benefits based on the actual number of treatments received. Previously, the composite treatment rider paid benefits only after two or more treatments. However, with this revision, policyholders can now receive a payout even after just one treatment.
With this structure, insurance payouts accumulate each time treatment is received; for a rider insurance amount of 100 million won, the policy pays 20 million won per treatment from the first to the fifth treatment, offering a maximum annual benefit of up to 100 million won for treatment costs. In addition, in the event of death due to an accident, 100% of the rider insurance amount is paid as an additional accidental death benefit.
The company is also introducing new riders that consolidate various existing disease diagnosis benefits into single options, such as the 'Power Diagnosis (Type 1-8 Disease) Rider,' 'Power Diagnosis II (Type 1-5 Disease) Rider,' 'Diagnosis Rider for 50 Major Diseases,' and 'Diagnosis Rider for 18 Major Diseases.' These riders systematically categorize 50 key diseases from Type 1 to Type 8, covering conditions ranging from mild to severe. Policyholders can claim benefits simply using the disease code (KCD) without submitting additional documents, improving the convenience of filing claims. This integration of multiple riders into a single option also helps reduce the premium burden.
Additionally, to broadly protect against medical expenses that may arise throughout the treatment process – from post-diagnosis examinations to surgery and rehabilitation – the company has introduced the 'Comprehensive Disease Treatment Expenses Rider (Type 1-5 Surgery Coverage Type)' and the 'Comprehensive Accident Treatment Expenses Rider (Type 1-5 Surgery Coverage Type).' These new riders comprehensively cover examinations such as MRI, CT, and PET scans, as well as surgeries, treatments, and rehabilitation, serving as a robust safeguard against medical expenses.
