Emart announced on September 9 that it will be selling wine and whisky gift sets ahead of Chuseok. As more consumers are choosing alcoholic beverages as holiday gifts, the product range now spans from cost-effective options in the 20,000 won range to high-end limited editions.
According to Emart, "From August 6 to September 7, during the Chuseok pre-order period, sales of wine and whisky sets increased by 39.6% and 38.6%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Total sales of alcoholic beverage gift sets rose by 39%, and even for this year's Lunar New Year, whisky and wine set sales were up 14.4% from the previous year."
For whisky gift sets, Emart has included exclusive glasses and lowered prices on popular products. For Shinsaegae Point members, the "Balvenie 12 Year DoubleWood," including two Glencairn glasses, is being sold for 99,800 won, and the "Johnnie Walker Double Black" set, with two on-the-rocks glasses, is available for 52,800 won.
The "Royal Salute 21 Year" is now offered at a 82,000 won discount, bringing the price to 219,800 won. The "The Glenlivet 18 Year," which comes with two exclusive glasses, is discounted by 150,000 won to 149,800 won. Discount prices apply when Shinsaegae Points are used.
The wine gift set lineup ranges from products in the 20,000 won range to premium offerings priced over 1 million won. The "Chateau Margaux 2018," which received a perfect 100 points from wine critic Robert Parker, is being sold for 1,298,000 won, while the Argentine "Catena Zapata Adrianna River Malbec 2021" is available for 299,000 won. Value sets like the "Fuzhou Set" and "Vina Maite Set" are priced at 29,800 won each, and customers receive a 50% discount when purchasing two or more sets.
Emart is also offering limited exclusive products for its "WineGrab" service, which allows customers to order through the Emart application and pick up their items in-store. The "Masseto 2021·Salon 2015" set is limited to just nine sets and sells for 3,298,000 won, with orders open from September 10.
