The total project budget is 377.2 million won, of which 226.32 million won comes from the national government and 150.88 million won from the district office.
Ground Gocheok is an alley-type shopping district designated in November 2023, formed along Gyeongin-ro 47-gil, Jungang-ro 6-gil, and Jungang-ro 8-gil. There are a total of 214 stores, including 202 currently operating shops, and it is adjacent to Gocheok Sky Dome, Dongyang Mirae University, and Gocheok I-Park.
The district office will utilize the unique characteristics linked to Gocheok Sky Dome by developing a joint brand as well as baseball-themed food and goods, and by operating baseball experience programs and alley festivals. It also plans to create a baseball-themed street using photo zones and information facilities, and will introduce a “Baseball Alley Tour” program that combines a gourmet map and a visit authentication initiative.
On September 8, the district office held a kick-off briefing at the Ground Gocheok Promising Alley Commercial District Office inside Dongyang Mirae University, with about 50 merchants and project officials in attendance, sharing detailed business plans and implementation schedules. Through this project, the district aims to draw visitors from Gocheok Sky Dome into the surrounding alley commercial district.
