"Has He Become a Far-Right YouTuber?" and "43-Minute Speech Filled With Ridicule"... Ruling Bloc Harshly Criticizes Jeong Jeongsik's Speech
Park Sungjoon: "Displaying the True Colors of a Former Public Security Prosecutor"
Kang Kyungsook: "Begin by Promising to Reflect on Politics That Led to Martial Law"
The ruling party harshly criticized the negotiation group speech delivered by Jung Jeomsik, floor leader of the People Power Party. The Democratic Party of Korea accused Jung of "having turned into a far-right YouTuber."
On the 8th, Park Sungjoon, chief spokesperson for the Democratic Party, commented on Jung's speech during a briefing, stating, "Hell gates, looting, pickpocketing, scams, hostage dramas—was this really a representative speech of a political party at the National Assembly? It sounded only like the provocative agitation of a far-right YouTuber."
Chief Spokesperson Park continued, "Without any sense of responsibility as the main opposition party, he called himself a minority while neglecting both accountability and alternatives, filling the speech only with far-right arguments and curses. Bringing up outdated leftist rhetoric and reviving color theory by mentioning communism was just a display typical of a former public prosecutor appointed by Hwang Kyo-ahn."

For far-right YouTubers, only the gates of hell remain." However, Chief Spokesperson Park also said, "It is not too late even now. I urge Jung to restore politics as soon as possible and to open the door of coexistence, not confrontation."
Kang Kyungsook, floor spokesperson for the Innovation Party for the Fatherland, also gave a scathing critique of Jung's speech. Spokesperson Kang remarked, "It was difficult to find any alternatives in the 43-minute speech, which was instead overflowing with mockery. He compared politics to Hitler, the economy to Chávez, and his term to Putin. The night that the people called the 'Revolution of Light,' he rebranded as the 'Revolution of Debt.'"
Regarding floor leader Jung's seven pledges—including the restoration of supplementary investigative rights, the abolition of early voting, and the refusal of constitutional amendment—she said, "Mockery is not an alternative. The past is not an alternative. What the people have entrusted to the main opposition party is the power to check the government, not the power to resurrect what the people have already concluded in judgment."
