Booklet Introducing 28 Gyeongbuk Universities Published: "Helping Expand University-Industry Cooperation Opportunities"
On September 8, North Gyeongsang Province published a booklet titled "Introduction to Gyeongbuk Anchor Universities," which consolidates the strengths, university-industry cooperation efforts, and specialization capabilities of the Anchor Center and local anchor universities into a single volume.
The booklet introduces 28 anchor universities (formerly known as RISE universities), including 16 general universities and 12 specialized colleges. It presents information to enable companies to quickly grasp the current status of talent development and academic departments aligned with their needs.
The early sections of the booklet include a Gyeongbuk Anchor Map highlighting the primary focus areas of each university, details on the anchor university structure, and four key talent development projects, all designed to help companies and other stakeholders easily understand the anchor system.
Each university profile covers an overview (year established, current students, faculty and staff, undergraduate departments, campus details), the status of industry-university cooperation (technology transfer, joint research, field training, job placement and entrepreneurship connections, patent records, industry collaboration cases), academic departments categorized by field, and a list with images of core equipment. This allows for comparison of each university's strengths and its points of collaboration with local industries.
North Gyeongsang Province plans to distribute the booklet to local chambers of commerce, businesses, and partner organizations and post it on the Anchor Center website. The booklet is expected to serve as a guide for matching university talent with businesses through industry-university cooperation. Companies will be able to quickly find universities with the necessary skills and talent, and universities are expected to benefit by expanding opportunities to collaborate with local businesses.
Dae-hyun Park, Director of the Anchor Center of North Gyeongsang Province, said, "We have compiled in one volume the strengths of universities in the Gyeongbuk region and what they can achieve together with local companies. I hope this will enable universities, the local community, and businesses to better understand one another and create new opportunities for collaborative growth."
