Jungnang-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Ryu Kyunggi) announced on September 8 that the “Myeonmok 7 District Private Housing Maintenance-Type Redevelopment Project (Fast-Track Integrated Planning)” in the area of 69-14 Myeonmokbon-dong was conditionally approved by the Integrated Review Committee for Urban Regeneration Projects of the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 3rd of this month. The project passed an integrated review covering six areas: architecture, landscape, transportation, education, parks, and disaster prevention.

View original imageFor the Myeonmok 7 District, a consortium of SK ecoplant and Hyundai Engineering & Construction has been selected as the main contractor. The finalized plan calls for the construction of an apartment complex with a maximum height of 35 stories, consisting of 12 buildings and a total of 1,515 residential units, including 290 units of public housing.
The district explained that it had focused on enhancing pedestrian safety and improving essential infrastructure. To improve the convenience of residents traveling between nearby schools and Myeonmok Station, a public pedestrian path will be created within the complex, and the pedestrian environment around Sangbong-ro 1-gil and Gyeomjae-ro 54-gil will be improved in connection with surrounding roads. Through public contributions (dedication for public use), a children's park, a neighborhood park, sports facilities, social welfare facilities, and a police substation will be established, and community facilities will be arranged along Gyeomjae-ro 50-gil and Sangbong-ro.

District Mayor Ryu Kyunggi stated, "We expect that the redevelopment of Myeonmok 7 District will provide new residential spaces and essential infrastructure in the Myeonmokbon-dong area," and added, "The district office will continue to provide administrative support to ensure that the redevelopment project can proceed smoothly in line with the wishes of local residents."
