The Technology Developers’ Day ceremony, organized by the Korea Industrial Technology Association (KOITA), was established to honor the dedication and achievements of corporate researchers who have led industrial technology innovation in Korea. This year’s event was the first to be held since Technology Developers’ Day was designated as a statutory national observance.
Park has led the localization of core technologies for low- and high-voltage power distribution equipment, which had previously relied heavily on imports. He successfully developed next-generation arc interruption technologies for power distribution circuit breakers, as well as series of air circuit breakers (ACB), vacuum circuit breakers (VCB), and gas-insulated switchgear (RMU), significantly improving Korea’s technological self-reliance and product reliability in power equipment.
In addition, Park has spearheaded the development of next-generation DC power equipment in response to trends toward higher power requirements and the expansion of eco-friendly power grids in AI data centers, securing a global technological leadership position. He led the development of Korea’s first DC 1000-volt (V) ACB, and the world’s first DC 1500V-class ACB and air disconnecting switch (DSU). With these innovative technologies integrated into the ACB and VCB product lines, LS ELECTRIC achieved expanded market entries in North America and Europe, generating cumulative sales exceeding 1 trillion won from 2021 through the previous year.
