It has been found that SSG.com's quick-commerce service "Baroque" has significantly increased its orders and delivery hubs within just one year of its launch.
On September 8, SSG.com announced that the average daily number of orders for Baroque last month increased by about seven times compared to the average in its initial launch period (September–November of the previous year). The average daily orders per store also doubled. The number of customers placing orders in August was about five times higher than during the first month of launch, and the proportion of repeat customers reached 51%. In the same month, customers who placed three or more orders accounted for about 10% of all ordering customers.
Baroque is a service that delivers Emart store products to nearby customers in about one hour. The number of product types offered has tripled from about 6,000 at launch to 18,000 currently, and delivery hubs will expand from 19 at launch to 90 within this month.
For the period from January to August this year, 93% of sales were generated from food items such as fresh and processed foods. In August, the average number of products purchased per order was 6.7, and 76% of all orders included fresh foods.
To mark the first anniversary of Baroque's launch, SSG.com is running promotions such as discounts for new customers and free shipping until September 30.
