106 Masterpieces of National Heritage Restoration Artisans Gathered in Gyeongju

An exhibition where visitors can experience the craftsmanship of both master artisans and the next generation of skilled professionals in the national heritage restoration sector will be held.

View original imageThe National Heritage Administration announced on September 8 that, in cooperation with the National Heritage Crafts Association, it will host the 'National Heritage Crafts Exhibition' from September 9 to 12 at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center (HICO).
A total of 106 works will be displayed, ranging from exhibits meticulously crafted by master artisans over many years to pieces produced by graduates of the 'National Heritage Restoration Skills Specialist Training Program' supported by the National Heritage Administration. The exhibition covers a wide variety of fields, including Buddhist statues, stone lanterns, paintings and sculptures that reinterpret historical texts and artworks such as 'White Robed Avalokitesvara', 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms', and 'Four Guardian Deities', windows and doors reproduced using traditional techniques, as well as models that showcase traditional Ondol heating systems and architectural structures.
