The symposium will go beyond sharing excavation results, aiming to establish both the necessity of historic designation and practical directions for preservation and management.
The event will be divided into two sessions: the first session will verify the site's historical significance from various perspectives, and the second session will focus on developing concrete implementation strategies. In the first session, participants will examine the archaeological achievements at the Changwon Bonglimsa Temple Site and their significance, the site's historical background and Buddhist importance, temple layout and architectural features, as well as characteristics and significance of its stone cultural heritage.
The second session will focus on the justification for historic designation and the formulation of maintenance plans. The session will analyze the meaning and necessity of historic designation by comparing Bonglimsa with other Gusan Seon Order temples, seeking differentiation in terms of maintenance and utilization strategies.
