The National Palace Museum of Korea announced on the 8th that 79 couples have been selected for its 2027 outdoor wedding program, "Gogyul" (an abbreviation for "Getting Married at the Palace Museum"). A total of 80 ceremonies will take place next year, with 41 held in the first half (April–May) and 39 in the second half (October–November).
The average competition rate was 8.4 to 1. Out of 1,379 couples who completed preliminary consultations between the 1st and 4th of the month, 672 couples applied. In particular, the most popular slot was 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, during the peak autumn season, recording a competition rate of 30 to 1. The museum selected 79 couples through an online lottery. Only one slot—the Friday, May 21 session—had no applicants and was excluded.
"Gogyul" goes beyond simply opening up spaces, also offering substantial financial support to vulnerable groups. The museum will provide up to 6.5 million won in wedding expenses to 10 couples from basic livelihood and low-income brackets. In addition, 13 couples who choose a traditional wedding ceremony will receive an additional 1 million won in support.

The couples who passed the final selection must sign a ceremony contract with the designated partner vendors by the 22nd. If a contract is withdrawn within the deadline or sessions remain unclaimed, the museum will gather these openings and accept additional applications.
