Korea Exchange announced on September 7 that it is conducting medical volunteer activities on Mactan Island in Cebu, Philippines (including Lapu-Lapu and Cordova areas) for local residents, in cooperation with Pusan National University Hospital, from September 5 to 13.
This medical volunteer service involves a team consisting of 22 medical professionals from Pusan National University Hospital and 5 staff members from the KRX National Happiness Foundation.
The team will provide services in six medical departments: internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, pediatrics, and Korean medicine. They will also conduct basic health examinations such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as medical consultations.
Since 2011, Korea Exchange has continued supporting overseas medical projects, starting with Laos and subsequently in Cambodia, Vietnam, and other countries.
Jung Eun-bo, Chairman of Korea Exchange, stated, "This medical volunteering initiative is a meaningful activity that goes beyond borders and language barriers, working together to promote healthy lives for neighbors in need." He added, "Korea Exchange will continue to pay close attention to those in need inside and outside Korea and strive to provide practical support wherever it is needed."
