SHINee's Minho Returns Solo After 9 Months: "I Poured All My Energy Into It"
According to SM Entertainment, SHINee's Minho will release his second mini-album, "Make It Hot," at 6 p.m. on September 7. This marks his first solo release in nine months following the single "Tempo" in December last year.
The album contains six tracks, including the title track "Make It Hot." The title song is a pop dance track with EDM influences, blending percussion rhythms and bass with a chorus melody. The lyrics capture the feeling of being drawn closer to someone in the heat of the moment.
Minho said that when he first heard the new song, he felt it resembled himself. He explained, "I felt that the energy I possess was the same as the energy in this song," adding, "I wanted to pour as much energy as I possibly could into it." Regarding the performance, he stated, "I prepared with the mindset of putting all my strength into this one song."
This time, unlike his previous solo releases which were mainly in winter, Minho is returning in the late summer. He said, "I used to release albums in winter as a gift for my fans, coinciding with my birthday, but I was curious about what it would be like to make a comeback in the summer instead of winter." He added, "I wanted to showcase a song with a hot and explosive performance."
He said, "The album is filled with the hot energy and passion that radiate from within me. The closer the comeback gets, the more I feel myself burning with excitement, as I have poured my everything into this album."
He also shared that his love for sports helped him throughout the production process. Minho has been presenting sports content through his YouTube channel, and the upcoming "SM Run" in October originated from his "SM London Run." He said, "Whenever I feel exhausted, overwhelmed by worries, or stressed at work, exercising gives me new energy to move forward. I also gained a lot of strength through exercise while preparing for this album."
